Frequently Asked Questions
What is Halotherapy?
Halotherapy is the process of grinding pharmaceutical grade salt (99.9% pure) through a special generator that micronizes the salt. Then the salt particles are breathed into the lungs as you relax on our Salt Beach, zero gravity lounge chairs or while the children play in the salt.
What does Halotherapy do?
It relieves symptoms relating to allergies, asthma, coughs, colds, flu, sinus infections & sinusitis, COPD, emphysema, bronchitis, ear infections, snoring & sleeping issues, & cystic fibrosis. It also helps with skin conditions like psoriasis, eczema & acne. It is good for stress, anxiety & fatigue also.
Who is Halotherapy good for?
What are some effects of dry salt treatment?
During a session you will taste the salt and your nose may run. You may cough or sneeze. Even after the session you will possibly experience these effects. Its all normal, as the salt is trying to relieve the body of the mucus and inflammation.
How many times should I get treated?
It depends on the severity of the issues but you can come as often as you like due to the fact that it’s all-natural – for example, visiting more frequently at first to get the situation under control then coming in for maintenance treatments when you’re feeling better.
What is proper salt room etiquette?
No food or drink allowed in the rooms
No electronic devices allowed in the rooms – feel free to take a magazine or book in with you
Sessions cannot be interrupted once started so be prompt
Salt rooms are for relaxing, so please no talking while in session – except quietly in the Barnacle room

Could you tell me some random salt facts?!
There are many different types and consistencies of salt. There are coarse salts, fine salts, flaky salt. Salt is acquired from different ways and different places.
Pink Himalayan salt comes from the Himalayan mountains in Pakistan. It has 84 minerals and trace elements that are good for you including calcium, magnesium, potassium, copper and iron. It is over 99% pure.
Sea salt, dead sea salt or mineral salts also have minerals and trace elements very similar to the Pink Himalayan. The water from the sea, or water source is evaporated with minimal processing. The salt may vary with color depending on the minerals.
